"Ayrum Fruits" processing factory is situated in Ayrum community of Tavush marz of Armenia, which was known for the amazing taste of its canned products since 1937 when a first processing factory was established here by Soviet Government.
During the first independence years of Armenia the factory got closed to be succeeded by "Ayrum Fruits" a unique life-changing business model, owned and managed by simple farmers.
Assortment of the company includes compotes, preserves and jams made from the ecologically friendly fresh fruits and berries grown in the nearby villages or collected from the surrounding forests.
"Ayrum Fruits" is an official trademark of "Mirg" Limited Liability Company established in 2014 by "Lchkadzor" Consumer Cooperative, which is the 100% shareholder of the enterprise and unites 43 members from Ayrum and Lchkadzor communities of Armenia.
"Mirg" was established within the Enterprise Development Project of OXFAM and since its establishment cooperates with many local and international organizations whose mandate is the rural and economic development, as well as poverty reduction.
With its operations the company fosters socio-economic development of the region and poverty reduction among the poor villagers, as well as economic empowerment of rural women. Being a social business model part of "Mirg's" income will be directed to solving social issues of the stakeholder communities.
